Dennis
Shelby, Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Shelby has 28 years of healthcare management experience with
the last 16 of those years operating acute rehabilitation hospitals
in two of the largest rehabilitation companies in the industry.
He has extensive experience in program development and the start
up of new facilities. His passion is helping his staff and the
patients they serve become the best they can be. Mr. Shelby is
known for building solid relationships with physicians as well
as being involved with the communities he has served in. He is
a graduate of Pacific Christian College in Fullerton, CA and
received his Master of Social Work from California State University,
Fresno.
Joseph P. Jacob MD, Medical
Director
Dr. Joseph Jacob comes to Northern Colorado Rehabilitation Hospital
from Medford, New Jersey, were he was chief for Physical Medicine
and Rehabilitation and Attending Physiatrist for Virtua – West
Jersey Health System. He also was the Associated Medical Director
for Mediples Rehabilitation Hospital in Marton, New Jersey, and
the President of the Garden State Rehabilitation Medicine. He
is a Diplomat of American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
and a Certified Independent Medical Examiner.
Samuel Laney, MD, Assistant Medical Director
Dr. Laney received his Undergraduate Degree from California State
University San Bernardino. He attended Medical School at the
Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. His residency was completed
at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Denver
where he specialized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Prior to attending Medical School, Sam was a finish carpenter
and cabinet maker having completed an apprenticeship in the Carpenters
Union. He also has a longstanding interest in outdoor sports,
exercise physiology, music and philosophy. His transition to
the Medical Profession with a focus on Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation, was fueled by his desire to heal patients using
a “head to toe, practical, functional and holistic approach.”
Terry Harding, Director
of Quality
Ms. Harding earned degrees in Physical Therapy and Physical
Education in New York and moved to Colorado in 1987 to
practice in the therapy field. She gained valuable IP and
OP clinical experience in Loveland and transitioned to
rehab management for the past 11 years. The most exciting
part of the rehabilitation process for her is the joy and
celebration as patients regain independence in their lives.
Terry derives great satisfaction in helping provide a positive
experience for patients and families throughout the recovery
process.
Diahann Barrera, Chief Financial
Officer
Mrs. Barrera has more than 18 years of administrative and
finance experience with 13 years in the healthcare industry.
She received her Bachelor’s of Management and her
Master’s of Business Administration from Bellevue
University in Bellevue Nebraska. She teaches finance, management,
and public administration courses for the University of
Phoenix and uses a hands on approach to helping staff with
their budgets and cost containment.
Ron Haulman, Director of Plant Operations
Prior to coming to Northern Colorado Rehabilitation Hospital,
Mr. Haulman spent over 30 years in management which included;
Computer Operations, Corporate IT networks, Facility Management
and Plant Operations Management. Being a native, Ron has
spent the majority of his life in the Northern Colorado
area.
Jon Campbell, Rph, Director
of Pharmacy Services
Mr. Campbell has 11 years of pharmacy practice and pharmacy
management experience in acute care and specialty healthcare
organizations, including home health care and long term
care. He has earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from
The
University of Colorado School of Pharmacy.
Reb Bryant, Director of Human Resources
Reb has several years of human resource experience, most
recently working in human resources for a Northern Colorado
health system. He has held positions in Employee Retention
and Relations, Training, and Career Coaching. His career
includes different leadership positions in the U.S. Coast
Guard. He holds a Masters Degree in Human Resource Development
from The George Washington University.
Renee Fleener, Director of Therapy
Operations
Ms. Fleener received her Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree from the
University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 1999. Since that time, she has
practiced in a variety of settings including pediatrics, outpatient, acute care,
home health, and acute rehabilitation. She is currently pursuing an MBA through
Regis University. Prior to accepting the position a Director of Therapy Operations,
Ms. Fleener worked as a Rehabilitation Specialist for Northern Colorado Rehabilitation
Hospital where she focused on program development and marketing.
April Asbury, Director of Nursing Operations
April Asbury has been a Registered Nurse for 12 years primarily in the field
of Emergency Care. Over the past 7 years, the majority of her experience has
been in a management capacity. Prior to joining the Northern Colorado Rehabilitation
Hospital team, April managed a staff of 80 employees in a 45 bed Emergency Department
in Greeley, Colorado. April’s previous experience also includes Cardiac
/ Critical Care and Rehabilitation Nursing. April is currently a member of ARN
and previously a member of the ENA. She additionally has her certifications in
Adult and Pediatric Trauma, ACLS, PALS and Burns.
