Lois Kirby

Success Story

Lois Kirby, a 75-year-old retired teacher from Laramie, Wyoming, is an active grandmother who enjoys walking and listening to audiobooks. After a recent fall, Lois suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a brain bleed caused by trauma. The fall left her weak and unable to walk.

Having been a patient previously at Northern Colorado Rehabilitation Hospital (NCRH), Lois chose to return because of the excellent therapy she had received. The therapists helped her the first time to become independent, and she knew they would help her to become stronger and learn to walk again.

During her stay, Lois enjoyed working with her case manager, Megan. “Megan went above and beyond to ensure I had a proper plan for discharge,” Lois says. “I appreciate that Megan was always available to listen and talk. The entire staff was very kind and compassionate.”

Lois is excited to return home to her regular routine and to restart her daily walks.
