Jon Piper

Success Story

Eighty-two-year-old Jon Piper is a retired pilot from Fort Collins, Colo. He enjoys golfing, sailing, and spending time with his two children and wife of 44 years.

Jon’s life changed this past September when he felt like he was falling and couldn’t feel his left side. He was taken to a hospital where he was diagnosed with a stroke and left hemiplegia, paralysis of his limbs on the left side of his body.

Following his initial care, Jon selected Northern Colorado Rehabilitation Hospital (NCRH) for rehabilitation. “I chose NCRH because it’s the place to go if you have a stroke,” he says. “They are Joint-Commission certified in stroke rehabilitation, and they have the best therapy program.”

Jon praises the staff at NCRH for their professionalism and compassion. “The therapists were amazing and helped me walk again,” he says. “The nurses are fantastic, and Drs. Asadi and Arrogante are wonderful and knowledgeable. This is the best hospital I have ever been in, and I’ve been in a lot at 82 years of age.”

Jon is planning for his return home. He most wants to get back to home-cooked meals and spending time with his wife again.
